College Flags And Fight Songs

College flags list amongst the most collectible of memorabilia, with a wide range of designs that reflect the unique heritage of each individual institution. Officially licensed college flags and pennants guarantee authentic insignia as well as quality design, and they provide a source of revenue that goes back to support the school. You can purchase flags or pennants to hang by the door of one’s house or show in one’s garden as well as banners that could be streamed over an entrance or across the yard. Two-ply constructions allow designs to be seen correctly from either side.

But most varieties of college flags are frequently to be found at intercollegiate games, especially football games. They are utilized by the fans to cheer on their team, and waving them is symbolic of the school spirit. One well-known activity while waving them is to sing the school’s fight song en masse. In fact, it is hard to conceive of a college flag apart from that college’s fight song. One would seem incomplete without the other.

Thus, you can find hundreds of fight songs, just as there are hundreds of flags. Sometimes both are equally old and hallowed, and sometimes each is of vastly different vintage. The oldest fight song in generally recognized to be Boston College’s “For Boston” of 1885, but it is not certain which is the oldest college flag. Indeed, it is not certain when the tradition of college flags and pennants began, although one may safely imagine that their origins roughly coincided.

Speaking of origins, a lot of flags have changed over the years owing to cultural advances that made it unacceptable to feature mascots based on racial stereotypes or designs integrating the old Confederate Battle Flag. Many alumni protest, but eventually new generations of students with no sentimental attachment to old symbols make the revised styles their own.

Technological Advancements For Swimming Pool Resurfacing

A swimmer needs to practice each day, that is why the occasional swimming pool resurfacing could be so devastating to an athlete. But while traditional methods can take whole days, now there is a far better way to do things, one which does not even require hired help.

That’s correct, do-it-yourself swimming pool resurfacing is now achievable thanks to the miracles of modern technology. It’s a straightforward process which will have the pool ready for business in a few fairly short hours, a real godsend for swimmers who need to work hard every day to maintain their fitness. Not just swimmers who require the practice time will benefit, of course.

To have a pool without water in it is pretty depressing, least of which is due to the fact that pools in need of renovation do not normally look too good anyway.

Naturally, it is possible to do your swimming pool resurfacing in the fall, after all the barbecues and other poolside gatherings. But in any case, it’s now a fairly simple matter involving just a few hours, so why spends hundreds or even thousands to hire others?

Swimming pools have been around since ancient times. The Great Bath at Mohenjo-Daro around five thousand years ago was covered by a tar-based sealant. Heated pools were known to the ancient Romans who could afford them. But it seemed to have been the British of the mid-nineteenth century who most popularized swimming pools, and ever since then resurfacing has been one of the main maintenance tasks.

For the individual homeowner, modern advances have made such upkeep much easier. Readily available in the form of a gel coating that can be applied to gunite, conrete, or fiberglass surfaces, modern resurfacing is now just a once-in-a-while kind of chore, with each application lasting up to thirty years or more!

The Many Advantages Of A Big Agnes Tent

It’s crucial to go with the correct equipment when in the great outdoors. Though amazing, Mother Nature can be deadly – quickly. One crucial part of anyone’s gear when experiencing our national parks ought to be portable shelter – in other words, a tent. Some thing like the Big Agnes tent, as fine a line as any made anywhere.

They are produced from dye-free fabric which is breathable but waterproof, venting moisture to the outside while keeping everybody dry inside. Their poles are constructed from an anodizing process that is environmentally friendly.

You see, tent poles normally need two extremely toxic chemical substances as a part of the anodizing process. But the Big Agnes tent are created from a unique process that eliminates phosphoric and nitric acid, eliminating the polishing stage altogether.

This also has the added benefit of reducing waste water, because with out employing these toxic chemicals, any rinsing water that’s used could be safely recycled. Of course, there are lots of reasons why a Big Agnes tent is such a best-seller.

High quality and reliability is one, plus design and features. And the company’s reputation for other products is solid, which makes consumers of portable sheltering curious about the whole Big Agnes product line. Indeed, it appears that the organization is most famous for its sleeping bags, which are unlike traditional designs in that the bag and the pad are united into one.

How they do this, they slide the pad into an built-in sleeve located at the bottom of the bag. This way, the top two-thirds is insulated as per usual however the bottom simply contains the pad, doing away with insulation material that loses most of its ability when compressed under the weight of a body anyway. For numerous individuals, such details do not really matter, but for true enthusiasts, such craftsmanship is important.

Greek Vases And Ancient Greece

Ancient Greek vases are a testimony to one of the founding civilizations of Europe, one that extended well over seven hundred years. It is the one seminal culture that’s most responsible for making the West what it really is. Through its own genius, and the genius it inspired in the Romans, ancient Greek techniques have gone on to influence lands far outside of Europe and countries far different than any on the continent.

Part of the beauty behind Greek vases has to do with the beholder’s own awareness of such a storied legacy. Contemporary science, politics, mathematics, and philosophy are greatly indebted to ancient Greek thought. Of course, art and culture have been considerably Greek at their core for hundreds of years too. So profound has been this influence that historians and general thinkers-at-large often wonder why modern Greek society seems such a pale reflection.

The meditative contemplation that comes with a deep consideration of Greek vases might lead one on such flights of intellectual fancy as to draw startling connections tantalizing and tenuous due to their novelty. For instance, China, the other great foundational influence in the human heritage (and certainly within their respective part of the world), is now rising up.

Modern day greece, nonetheless, is hamstrung by the cynicism and greed of its own citizens. Businessmen in China and Greece both realize how endemic corruption and bribery is in both countries, and yet it is odd how China can still manage to challenge even the United States despite such deficiencies while Greece needs European Union help. Is it merely a matter of size?

What exactly is it that determines that one people should prosper, and prosper again, while another shall only ever have prospered in the past? What’s the magic factor here? Is as simple as the “destiny” and “fate” that both ancient Greek and ancient-modern Chinese culture regards so highly?

Work Online As A Virtual Assistant

The rapid growth of virtual assistant jobs reflects the prevalence of corporate management trends in this age of downsizing and cost-cutting. Especially popular with start-ups and other organizations of the Knowledge Economy, virtual assistant jobs allow firms to minimize their in-house support staff as they search for increased profitability.

After all, from management’s perspective, nothing more is needed than somebody who will basically – even only – transcribe records or answer phones. Virtual assistant jobs allow the business to avoid paying for expenses beyond wages or salaries.

Businesses save a lot by not having to provide health insurance, sick days, and the like. Now take the concept another step further, and it’s easy to see that businesses do not even need to deal with any administrative hassles at all, like performance reviews and so forth, simply by hiring what is in essence a contractor!

So what does the worker get out of it? Well, for people that require non-traditional jobs, these virtual work at home jobs are especially attractive. Such work most often involves general clerical duties that may be easily fulfilled outside of an office. Some positions, however, can require advanced abilities for instance computer programming or internet research.

But these jobs aren’t some bad old-fashioned work-at-home scam where victims are made to assemble tchotchkes or stuff envelopes with fliers. They’re actual honest-to-goodness employment opportunities made possible by an ever more interconnected world.

More and more entrepreneurs now hire actual live virtual assistants to give their fledgling start-ups a respectable appearance, creating the professional impression of a full-staffed operation. If you are a student, a homemaker, retired, or just don’t want to deal with a conventional lifestyle, you now have more choices than ever to be, in a very real sense, your very own boss! Thanks to the marvels of modern technology, it’s easier and a lot more practical than ever prior to to work off-site, even in one’s own home.

The Advantages Of A 1099 Form

The 1099 Form is filed on behalf of independent contractors in the United States annually as required by law. Independent contractors are individuals or businesses that provide goods or services to another individual or corporation within the terms of a contract or verbal agreement.

All those individuals or companies that make use of independent contractors must file a 1099 Form for each contractor paid an amount of six hundred dollars or more for the duration of a single year. As might be imagined, it’s possible for thousands of such contractors to be hired, and so those who make use of more than two hundred and fifty must file all their forms electronically, that is virtually always generated by software.

In addition to a 1099 Form, the 1096 is also required when it comes to paper copies sent through the mail. Payees typically use the information on their 1099s to complete their own tax returns, and will most likely use the Combined Form 1099 that records all the independent contracting they have done for the year.

Generally speaking, however, taxpayers aren’t required to attach a 1099 to their own federal income tax returns except under certain circumstances. Rules regarding 1099 forms are to be found in IRS Publication 1220.

Use of the 1099 has become quite controversial in the present economic recession as more and more employers seek to save money by classifying an ever bigger part of their workforce as independent contractors. The benefits to the employer in savings are essentially passed onto the worker, whose take-home or net earnings will take a substantial hit relative to that of a regular employee. But the practice has becoming increasingly widespread in the American economy today because really few candidates can afford to complain or hold out for a better job offer in such recessionary times.

The Credentials Of Fast Business Loans Bad Credit

Quick and easy business loans – that’s the name of the game for most businessmen and women each day as they fight to find financing regardless of poor personal credit histories. However, there is one method available still, that of the cash advance.

The History Between Safes And Lupin III

Arsène Lupin III is a formidable thief capable of cracking all the safes in the world. A fictional character introduced by the mangaka (Japanese for “comicbook artist”) Kazuhiko Kato, better recognized as Monkey Punch, in the 10 August 1967 issue of Weekly Manga Action, Lupin is supposed to be the grandson of another fictional character, Arsène Lupin, a French gentleman thief and detective created by Maurice Leblanc, the best-selling early Twentieth Century pulp fiction author. As the world’s number one thief, in addition to safes Lupin is also a master at disarming traps and alarms. His travels have proved him quite a talented driver and pilot as well, and he is an expert shot – with a pistol, no less.

For all his abilities, however, Lupin has a doltish, even idiotic appearance. Yet they belie his ferocious reasoning abilities and social charms; Lupin is able to get past folks with about the same ease as when negotiating safes, particularly booby-trapped ones.

When not practicing his art – he seems to steal more for the challenge than for any personal gain, frequently discarding treasures or not caring if he should lose them after first conquering the quest of acquiring them – Lupin enjoys fishing, gambling, and dating lovely women – not necessarily in that order!

Giving rigor to the dubious proverb about honor amongst thieves, Lupin will frequently foil other criminals who are engaged in activities of a violent, murderous nature. In fact, most of his adventures involve not only the police, epitomized by his nemesis Inspector Zenigata, but really sinister characters of deep malice.

Immensely well-liked and voted amongst the Ten Most Iconic Anime Heroes, Arsène Lupin III has been ubiquitous in three television series, five feature films, nearly two dozen television specials, and several original video animations and videogames.

The Once and Future Queen City of the Hudson

Welcome to another edition of Isaac Toussie’s real estate insights. Today Isaac Toussie will be talking about an upstate town that once rivaled New York for industry and commerce. Derived from the native term “Uppu-qui-ipis-in” which means “reed-covered hut by the water,” Poughkeepsie today has grown beyond huts into a permanent city of some forty-three thousand people. Poughkeepsie is really the name of both a town and a city, both municipalities right next to one another because the city actually used to be the western part of the town (and, incidentally, was an independent village in its own right before that). Except for legal purposes, and such services as fire and police, the two communities are often viewed as one, with a combined population in excess of seventy-five thousand people. The town is actually home to much more people than the city, which counts only some thirty-thousand-plus residents.

Therefore, it’s expected that their respective real estate markets will be quite different. A closer examination of the latest demographical figures shows that the town is much more affluent than the city, with a median income of over fifty-five thousand dollars a year as opposed to well under thirty-thousand for the city. Indeed, the Town of Poughkeepsie is able to provide for its own emergency services, which are staffed by fully paid civil servants, and not volunteers as is the case with many a suburban community.

As for the City of Poughkeepsie, it’s been severely battered by the economic malaise afflicting the rest of the state and the country as a whole. Average listing price in the two-week period between January 20, 2010 and February 3, 2010 fell almost thirty thousand dollars, to two hundred and fifty-one thousand dollars, though almost five thousand of that has been “recovered” as of February 10. However, the actual median selling price, based on two hundred and thirty-four homes sold, is almost thirty-three thousand dollars short of the median listing price, at barely two hundred and twenty thousand. Average price per square foot in the city is one hundred and thirty-two dollars.

Poughkeepsie was once the “Queen City of the Hudson,” but has suffered economic problems for the past twenty-plus years and was just beginning to recover in fits and starts when the recent recessionary woes struck. This has obvious implications for local realty, both residential and commercial. The Town of Poughkeepsie, however, seems rather more vibrant in comparison. International Business Machines, Incorporated, was once the most notable employer around, and while the company still maintains a campus in town, most of its production has been moved elsewhere. Vassar College in the City of Poughkeepsie is arguably the most notable employer now.

Should you purchase any Poughkeepsie property? Well, there’s no way it’s reclaiming its glory days, so the local real estate market is never going to be a hot one. But if your goals are more modest, and especially if you live in the city yourself, then certainly, Poughkeepsie property can be a solid investment.

New York Outlook

When getting into anything, it helps to do a little reconnoitering of the facts, even for a professional developer such as Isaac Toussie. And for the correct socioeconomic context in which to put such information, it helps to reference governmental findings such as census reports.

New York’s median yearly household income is almost forty-three and a half thousand dollars, compared to the national average of just under forty-two thousand a year. The state median family income also comes out ever-so-slightly ahead of the national figure at over fifty-one thousand versus just over fifty-thousand per annum. As might be expected, per capita differences post the same general ratio at almost twenty-three and a half thousand to over twenty-one and a half thousand, respectively.

Some more facts and figures need to be taken into consideration for a well-rounded appraisal of realty trend lines in New York, but these pertain more specifically to real estate: the median value of owner-occupied housing units is well over a hundred and forty-eight thousand dollars, almost thirty thousand dollars more than the national average of only over one hundred and nineteen thousand. Curiously, the asking price for housing units statewide compared to nationwide posted only a slight difference of about five thousand dollars, at well over ninety-four thousand dollars to only over eighty-nine thousand, respectively.

Average sales prices for homes in the Empire State have typically been between two hundred and three hundred thousand dollars for four bedroom units, the most expensive category of housing. However, extremely dramatic spikes and drops have been posted periodically, such that gains of up to over seven hundred thousand dollars were reached. Such surges and declines have not lasted more than a year, and because the drop-offs have only very rarely fell past previous baseline levels, they may have been viewed as simple market corrections instead of anything more ominous. In fact, other types of housing – that is, one, two, three, and even four-bedroom units – have held rather steadily for a decade, rising only gradually from an average of around one hundred thousand to no more than two hundred thousand almost ten years later. When considering just one and two-bedroom homes, prices have only appreciated around fifty-thousand dollars in eight years.

It can be surmised that New York’s residential real estate market is fairly stable on the whole. The recent economic woes troubling the nation have certainly made an impact, but residential realty statewide seems to have endured it fairly well, all things considered. After all, this is the capital of the world we’re dealing with here!

That means that New York City will always be bustling with economic activity, and the state along with it in a rising-tide-lifts-all-boats fashion. Local developers such as
Isaac Toussie consider home prices of half a million not at all unusual, and should be regarded as the “entry-level” price one can expect to pay, even for somewhat dilapidated structures in some of the city’s worst neighborhoods. Rents are arguably even more incredible, with people actually leasing out their walk-in closets as rooms!

Affiliate Marketing The Roadmap To 6 And 7 Figures

Get out of the rat race and onto the fast track through affiliate marketing on the web. Thanks to the power of the internet, providing unprecedented scope and reach, there are now a few new ways to make money from the comfort of your own home. Best of all, unlike old-fashioned medical billing or envelope stuffing schemes, these modern techniques in fact work! Affiliate marketing is the roadmap to 6 and 7 figures – if you know what you’re doing and you’re doing something valuable.

Now let’s pause right there for a moment, because lost in all the hooplah over making money online is that fact that you are only going to be rewarded for adding something of value to the internet. Yes, internet marketing equals residual cashflow, but that only happens when you’re actually providing something that contributes positively to someone’s life!

For example, teach enough people something they want to know and enough of those people will help make you rich – not by having to pay you any money themselves, but by clicking on any number of ads you can host on your attractively designed, easy-to-navigate information-rich website.

Every mouse click can be anywhere from a few pennies to a few dollars for you by the business that’s chosen your site as the venue to advertise their item or service – and, as previously mentioned, with enough people browsing your site odds are that enough of them will click on an ad, translating to hundreds or even thousands of dollars a month!

But the trick is to provide something of value and market it right. Without proper marketing, no one will actually hear of your fantastic site, even if it contains the answer to life, the universe, and everything. But all the advertising in the world is not going to help folks want to come back or even stay on your site if there’s nothing there of value to them.

The Need For High Risk Business Loans Bad Credit

Who on the planet types terms like “high risk business loans bad credit” in to the search engines? It appears to be one of the most common keyword phrases stumbled upon daily by them, as scored by volume reported, but who are the folks that write – and therefore think – this way? So ungrammatical, so casual, so carelessly…entrepreneurs?

It appears as if almost every small business is in dire need of Loans for small business or if not, then gives a distinct silent cry for a loan. Obviously if anyone falls inside of a financial pit, there’s almost no escape nor is there any vitality to fight back, sequencing fatal results for the business. Shame on those clumsy enough to have not figured out anything about preserving their business, I find fault with personal and emotional interference.

And just what does it say about business people that they’re given over to such conceptual mash-ups such as “high risk business loans bad credit” anyway? Talk about stream-of-consciousness writing! Joyce would be proud, in all likelihood. Yet that’s precisely the mindset of a success story. While there are many highly intelligent and highly literate successes in business, there are vastly more who succeed despite, it could seem, themselves – that is to say, you needn’t be an intellectual in order to make a lot of money. You simply need to know how to make big bucks and go about doing it.

If that means getting literate, being an intellectual, then so be it. But one really has nothing to do with the other. That’s why we get people Googling high risk business loans bad credit on a daily basis. These are obviously businessmen and women who are looking for money and yet are high risks themselves! Moreover, consider that they recognize that they are risky propositions and yet half-expect, at least, to find someone willing to lend them money. What audacity in fact – the same rough thick-skinned nerve that’s in the DNA of most any entrepreneur, only exponentially increased!

It’s a great thing, such cheek, such gall, such moxie, such temerity. It’s this kind of gumption that got you to be an entrepreneur to begin with, in the end. But a few of your peers have it in abundance – and that’s truly an understatement! So they are going around scouring the web for all signs of a business loan for those with bad credit, fully expecting that where there’s a need there’s a businessman or woman who has figured out ways to meet it!

And indeed, such intuition is proven right: there is certainly a way for those with bad credit histories to get money for their businesses. Moreover, they can pay back the funds little by little, practically taking their sweet time to do so! This is no loan, however, but cold hard cash that’s advanced against anticipated credit card sales. You would only pay back a certain previously agreed upon percentage of the monthly receipts – that’s it!
